Kris, and as soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I was going to do (doesnt happent very often). I decided that I would do the 'Black Magic' Technique because Upsy Daisy is one stamp set that really lends itself to so many different options. This is probably the reason it is my most favourite of stamp sets! To make my card I used Cherry Cobbler as my base. I ran a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the tulips embossing folder. I stamped my image on Basic Black card stock using White Craft ink and when it was thoroughly dry I used my SU Watercolour Pencils to colour in the image. When I had finished I matted it onto a piece of Old Olive card stock and ran a band of White Tafetta ribbon that I had dyed Cherry Cobbler around the botton of the card. The sentiment is also from Upsy Daisy and that was stamped using cherry Cobbler ink, punched out using the large oval and sponged and them placed on a scallop oval in Old Olive. I attached the scallop oval to the card using dimensionals. I love the 'Black Magic' Technique and I am really happy as to how this turned out. Dont forget to play along with us this week at Sunny Challenges and Creations and especially dont forget to check out Kris and Vicky's blogs and see what they too have done with the sketch for this week. Bye for now...

Sunny Challenges and Creations Challenge, and then I added the 'Nursery' Theme to make it just a little more interesting. Don forget to go along to Kris and Vicky's blogs and check out their wonderful creations! I also wanted to do minimal stamping in this challenge. I started with a Bashful Blue Base and topped that with Whisper White. I rolled the Baby Tees Jumbo wheel useing the Bashful Blue once again, then to add a little bit of contrast I placed a small strip of Island Indigo acros the centre and topped that with A scrap of Whisper White that I had in my another day box. The Large Scallop Oval and the Large Oval were also out that box. The base of the boat is a Large Oval that has been cut in half, the waves are the trimmings from the Scallop Border Punch and the sails of the boat are Real Red and So Saffron and the flag on top is Pear Pizazz were all punched out using the Petite Pennants Builder punch! I sponged around the edges and made my clouds using Marina Mist and the sun could be no other colour than Daffodil Delight! The sentiment is stamped using Island Indigo and placed on cardstock of the same colour that had been punched out using the Scallop Oval. I think this card is pretty cute and it was so easy to put together. I do hope that you will play along with us this week and who knows you could be our very next Ray of Sunshine!! Till next time bye for now

Kris, Vicky and I started the challenges on Sunny Challenges and Creations. Can you believe it? This week I supplied the sketch and the challenge this week was to us emboss resist on it. I cant believe how long it has been since I actually have used this technique and it is one I do really like. I love the way you can take a plain image and change it up so completely! I used the set Faith in Nature and the background stamp En Francais to create my 'base'. When I stamped my images onto Glossy White card stock I inked the image in Versamark first then Cajun Craze and then embossed using clear embossing powder. To add the colour to the pear I sponged on Old Olive and More Mustard, and used Old Olive on the leaf as well. The background was sponged with Crumb Cake. I started with a card base of Crumb Cake which I matted with Whisper White and embossed using the Tulips embossing folder, theimages were matted onto Marina Mist and the sentiment was stamped in Crumb Cake and the edges were sponged in Old Olive and punched out using the Large Oval Punch, and that in turn was placed onto Crumb Cake which was punched out using the Oval Scallop Punch and sponged in ink of the same colour. The pear image was mounted using dimensionals and the other images were placed straight onto the Whisper White Card Stock. This challenge was a lot of fun, and we hope to see your creations on Sunny Challenges and Creations this week too. We look forward to you joining us,Bye for now.....

This week it was my turn to supply the sketch and the challenge for this round. I have been under the weather for a few weeks now with a bad back and now sinus infection :( Please check out Kris and Vicky's blogs for inspiration and also to see what they have done for this challenge. Please play along with us at Sunny Challenges and Creations and who knows you may just be our next Ray of Sunshine!
The challenge this week is really very simple, all you had to do was to follow the sketch there were no added stipulations this week, so go for your life and have a bit of fun with the challenge and dont forget to share it with us! My card base was Very Vanilla which I matted using a piece of Cherry Cobbler and run through the Big Shot using the Houndstooth embossing folder. I topped that with a piece of Vanilla satin ribbon across the card and then layerd a piece of Pear Pizazz which had been embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder. The image was also stamped onto Very Vanilla Cardstock, I coloured the images with my blender pens, the sentiment I stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink and then punched it out using the scallop oval punch, then running the scallop oval from the movers and shapers Punch Windows. I think it made a very pretty Christmas card and on the inside I added a Scallop Trim Border in Cherry Cobbler along with the verse from the set Beautiful Season.

Sunny Challenges and Creations. Vicky was the creator of this weeks sketch and the only stipulation was that we had to use a wheel somewhere in our creation. Our wheels get forgotten when we get new toys to play with and this has really had me working hard to come up with something a little different, but at the same time sticking to the challenge rules. This card I decided to use the Motorcycle Stamp and make a masculine card. I took Very Vaneilla Cardstock and put a band of Calypso Coral on it and using the Baroque Wheel I 'wheeled' a piece of Very Vanilla and attached it to the Calypso coral. I stmaped the Motorcycle in Choc Chip and matted it onto a piece of choc Chip card stock. I then stamped the square scallop sentiment from Punch Bunch using Wild Wasabi. This was placed onto a bigger square scallop of Chocolate Chip. I punched to holes in the sentiment using my Crop -a - dile and threaded hemp twine through the holes and attached it to the back of the Calypso Coral. to finish the card off I took the Choc Chip Stamp n Write Marker and inserted it into my Colour Spritzer Tool and gave the front of the card a few puffs of colour. I really like the way the spatters show. I hope you like this as much as I do, Bye for now

Sunny Challenges and Creations we had to use Marina Mist and place any shape on the card front. I thought that I would do another card for the challenge (what so soon?) because I really started to get into the swing of Marina Mist!My base was of Sahara Sand, and I then 'wheeled' a strip of Marina Mist and Very Vanilla Card stock with the Jumbo Wheel Friendly Words. I added a length of the Chantilly Crochet Trim across the centre and attached a flower that I made by punching out 3 Fancy Flower Shapes, and 2 of the small leaves from the Sizzix Die Island Floral. I distressed all the shapes and seperated them before assembling them. I used a small yellow button from the Icecream Parlour Button collection and tied it off with Hemp twine. The sentiment is from the age old favourite Sincere Salutations , which I stamped off in Black and punched out using the decorative label punch. I hope you like my card, it was quick and easy to do and came together very quickly. Would love to hear what you think. Bye for now

Sunny Challenges and Creations this week. This time I chose to use Garden Green for my card base, I topped that with Confetti Cream and the panels were cut from Holly Jolly DSP that I had on hand and is just about to retire. Using the Big Shot I cut a scallop oval in Garden Green and a medium oval in Confetti Cream which I ran through the Big Shot once again this time inside the Square Lattice embossing folder, because as you remember at least one embossing folder was to be used. The image I stamped twice in Garden Green and coloured the star yellow is from the soon to be retired Christmas Classics stamp set. One of the images I cut up in sections and layered it onto the bottom one with dimensionals just to give it a bit of a lift. The sentiment is from Heard from the Heart, and on the inside of the card on Very Vanilla Card stock I stamped the verse from Snow Swirled along with a snowflake in the top right hand corner. The bow is Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and the bow was placed in the centre of the top portion of the card to give it a 'bauble look'.It seems a bit sad to be saying goodbye to some of your favourite stamp sets, they are a little like comfy slippers really, they are always there when you wnat them. Nevermind on the 1st of September we will have a whole lot more new favourites that we will automatically reach for!

Sunny Challenges and Creations Challenge for this week. I pulled out some Regal Rose cardstock, which I dont seem to use often enough, layered it with Whisper White which I had passed through the Big Shot using the Petals a Plenty embossing folder. I then matted some Whisper White onto another piece of Regal Rose and fed each corner into the Decorative Label Punch to make the corner shapes that I achieved here. A Strip of matching cardstock had a piece of white grossgrain ribbon across its length and attached to the main body of the card. The sentiment was stamped and the large oval punch was used to shape it. The fox was stamped in Regal Rose once again and placed on dimensionals. She is so cute, she looks like she is batting her eyes at any unsuspecting little boy fox! I have had fun using this set this week and hope that you have liked what I have done. Bye for now
Sunny Challenges and Creations I used a Whisper White card base, and using Bashful Blue Ink and the standard size Stampin' around wheel with cup cakes on it, then topped it with Bashful Blue card stock and added a scallop edge from the Tasteful Trim Die, I then ran a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder and matted that onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise and placed the turtles using dimensionals. For some reason this card puts me in mind of "snips and snails and puppy dog tails"! I had fun making this card and I hope you like it too!

Sunny Challenges and Creations we are using the stamp set Fox and Friends and the sketch for this challenge was done by Vicki. As I said in an earlier post it really had me thinking, and now I seem to have gotten into the 'groove' with set and will share with you over the next couple of days some more of my creations using this lovely set. The card base is Tempting Turquise and that has been layered with Whisper white of which I attached four of the lions from the stamp set that were stamped in More Mustard and that was then run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder. A smaller mat of the Tempting Turquoise topped with Whisper White was adhered to the embossed layer and then I had cut out a giraffe that was stamped in Cajun Craze and he was placed using dimensionals. You cant see it very well in this picture but I placed a basic rhinestone for the giraffe's eye. The card was finished off by placing a strip of More Mustard Cardstock across the page which had 1/8" White Taffeta Ribbon attached to it. This is such a pretty set and I dont know why I hadnt had ink to it before this :( I do hope you like it and I would love to know what you think of it.

Sunny Challenges and I thought that I would post another of my creations that I made for this week. We had to work with Inspired by Nature and it is such a lovely set and it is very 'giving' in as much that there are so many components to work with. I decided this time not to be so structured and to let a bit of whimsy play a part. I am so pleased with the end result and I hope you like it too! My base is Very Vanilla, which I topped with a piece of Soft Suede cardstock. I ran this through the Big Shot using the Tulips border embossing folder. The Regal Rose I ran through the Big Shot as well this time using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I used Soft Suede ink to stamp the grasses on Very Vanilla, and the flowers are the smallest daisy, which were coloured using the Stamp n Write Markers in Real Rose, Melon Mambo, So Saffron, and Soft Suede. Five flowers were inked and stamped then cut out, and then attached to the cardstock randomly using my faithful Anywhere Glue Stick. This layer was then run through the Big Shot too, this time using the Squeare Lattice embossing folder. Before attaching this layer to the Baja Breeze mat I coloured some 1/8" taffeta ribbon with Regal Rose ink and tied it around the botton. It was then assembled, dimensionals were added to the back and it was all attached to the main body of the card. I hope you like what I have done, Iwould love to know what you think. Bye for now.....
