Elegant Soiree meets Sweet Summer

I just love the Elegant Soiree designer paper and the Sweet Summer Stamp set. It is amazing how when the ladies use this set they "have to have it".
The card was made using Marina Mist cardstock which was embossed using the Elegant Lines embossing folder and the Sweet Summer Sale-a-bration stamp set. The inks used were Sahara Sand and Baja Breeze. To achieve the look I wanted, I inserted the card front into the embossing folder only about 5.5 cms. I ran that through the Big Shot, then turned the cardstock so that I could emboss the bottom section of the card again so have the embossed area cover the whole section. It looks brilliant when it is done. When embossing the lower section of the card try to ensure that the Big Shot rollers dont go over the edge of the embossing folder, because if it does then you will get a little ridge that depending on the cardstock you use could be quite noticeable. A strip of Elegant Soiree was placed down the side and then the image was stamped in Sahara Sand and Baja Breeze on Very Vanilla and then matted onto a piece of the Marina Mist. I tossed up whether to add yet another colour in the cardstock, but I wanted the image to blend and remain simple and unfussy. I love the way this has turned out and the ladies had a ball making it. I hope you like it too, please let me know what you think. Bye for now

Mini Magazine Holder and Cards

Over the next few days I will be posting the cards that were made along with this darling Mini Magazine Holder. I gathered the inspiration for mine from  Wendy Hawkinson The ladies had a lot of fun making their cards and the holder and well before they left they had already planned who they were going to make more of these for and for what occasion! I used my newest favourite colour for the holder and that is Very Vanilla. I wrapped a narrow strip of the Elegant Soiree designer paper around the bottom and then tied a vanilla satin bow. This box has so many possibilities. I think the So Swirly Jumbo Wheel could be used to great effect and also the the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel would look brilliant too. Once the holder was made we went on to make 5 cards and envelopes to match. I look forward to you visiting tomorrow to see the first of the cards that were made, I wuld love to know what you think of them, Bye for now

Heart Shaped Favour Boxes

These beautiful little boxes are from The Three Sisters website. The template is free to members, and best of all membership is free! It is a lovely site filled with different papercrafting ideas, and membership is growing all the time. These little favour boxes are so quick and easy to make you will be surprised. Can you imagine for a little girls birthday for a treasure hunt, or even on the table with each guests name on them to be used as a place card and a little gift inside. Use Sticky Strip, and they will stay together forever! I decorated mine with the Large and Small heart punch, Star Punch and Small Star Punch, Boho Blossoms, ribbon and a rhinestone brad. I think they are incredibly cute, and any little girl (or big one) would love to receive one of these! Till tomorrow, bye for now.
As many of you know I have been battling the lurgy for some time now and have not had a great deal of Mojo happening so yesterday my son and his family went to Dream World and White Water World and I tagged along with them. All in all we had a fabulous fun filled day. I actually went on these rides! The Corkscrew was the very first ride we went on in the morning. If you can pick which one is me hanging upside down on the left then you will get the prize! After the Corkscrew we went on the Rapids and I must admit I did love it as I did last time we came here. We walked through to White Water World and had a beautiful picnic lunch that Ann had prepared, and then it was back to the rides again. The other ride I went on that I thought I would be terrified on was what was called the Green Room. It was a series of long tunnels heading downward, and then at the end of the tunnel you were spat very unceremoniously into this huge funnel which tossed you from side to side and then out into the open. It was such brilliant fun and we all slept extremely well last night. Now I have it figured that if I went there everyday and climbed all the stairs and steps then I would be waif like in no time at all! I must admit I feel rejuvinated so I will be posting some of my creations from the last week or so. Bye for now.

Motorcycle Card Share

Today's card bought me much pleasure in the creation. After seeing this image stamped it reminded me of my late dad, who was a motorcycle fanatic. Not quite the 'easy rider' type of enthusiast was my dad, but he had a true appreciation of all fine motors. So it was with my dad in mind I made this card with the type of colours that he would love to receive in a card. The card base was Very Vanilla which I topped with a piece of Crumb Cake that I had run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Folder on the upper portion of the card and the bottom section is a piece of designer paper from the Woodland Walk collection. To conceal the join Grey Taffeta Ribbon was used. The image needed something but not anything that would detract from the motorcycle so My trusty Matt Pack came to the fore and I pierced the corners on the diagonal. The image was then matted onto some Crumb Cake and the Marina Mist. This motorcycle stamp has so many possibilities I m sure it is going to be a firm favourite for those hard to create masculine cards. Let me know what you think, I would love to hear your thoughts. Bye for now.

Sail Away

Hi Stampers!
I thought tonight I would share a quick card that I made while watching the cricket with my husband (not). The baja breeze base had been sitting on my work table for a few days and has been moved from this spot to that. I was mounting the Sail Away stamp and thought I would use it with what I had on the table. I coloured the yacht with Watercolour Pencils and then used my Blender Pen to colour. I thought that I would distress the edges and this was very hard to do, because the whole time my mind is screaming at me to "STOP", it isnt straight or structured. I backed it with Baja Breeze and mounted it on dimensionals. I also matted the baja breeze on some Whisper White Cardstock that I had run the Very Vintage Wheel over and then embossed using the square lattice embossing folder.l I quite like it (I think), made me not step but jump out of my comfort zone of orderliness and into scraggy and distressed. (I wonder if they call is deistressed because that is what the artist is becoming the whole while! Well thats it for me today, so please let me know what you think, bye for now

Happy Birthday to you! Level 1 Hostess set Birthday Bakery

This little card came about because I was cleaning up myu work area and there was a piece of Pear Pizazz, Very Vanilla and a scrap of Pretty in Pink just sitting there asking to be used. Firstly I grabbed the Stampin around Wheel Cupcakes and rolled the front of the card using ink the same colour. I then stamped the Cakes from the Birthday Bakery Level 1 Hostess set in Crumb Cake onto the Very Vanilla and then coloured the cakes using but of course my Aqua Painters. I cant believe that I used to shy away from them and they stayed hidden in the drawer for ever so long before I made myself use them. My Aqua Painters and my Mini Glue Dots are never very far away from me! I matted this layer onto the Pretty in Pink and then onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then straigth onto the Pear Pizazz. I added a small bow in a vanilla coloured ribbon which was on my work table (not SU I am afraid).

Sweet Summer.....again

Hi everyone, Well I am still onto or into the Sweet Summer set. I just can bear to put it away......yet! Once again I have stamped all over the front of the Very Vanilla base card with the little branch, only this time I have coloured the leaves with the Aqua Painter and using Pear Pizazz. I added a strip of the Pear Pizazz across the front of the card and also added a small piece of the new trim in the Autum Winter Mini. Have you noticed I have let you have little sneak peaks the last few days? I stamped the stem in Pear Piazaa and coloured it the same colour and then stamped and coloured the flower head in Baja Breeze. Popped the flower head onto dimensionals before attaching to the Very Vanilla which I had matted onto the Pear Pizazz. I really like the clean lines of this card, what do you think? I would love for you to let me know. Bye for now.

Easter Blossoms

I simply adore the little girl in this set! She is running barefoot in the meadow with her eggs in the basket and wildflowers clutched in her little hand. She doesnt need adornment, she is just right as she is, so that is why I have left this card pretty plain. I stamaped the Whisper White base card with the blossoms from this set in Night of Navy and stamped the little girl in the same colours. I then matted this on Night of Navy cardstock, wrapped some linen thread around this layer and mounted the image on dimensionals onto the base card. Let me know what you think, you already know what I think of this wet. Till tomorrow, Bye for now.

Punch Bunch from Sale-a-bration!

Hi everyone, today I thought I would move away just a little from the Swee Summer set, but still staying with Sale-a-bration. How lucky are we that we can earn free top quality stamps, just for spending as little as $100. How many other places can you purchase goods you were going to get anyway and get such a fabulous bonus. They are very special because they are not for sale - ever. Wow! I feel so lucky to have been able to earn my stamp sets. Over the last couple of days I have shown you the Sweet Summer ser, today I am using the owl from the Punch Bunch set as well as the cute in flight butterfly from the Sale-a-bration set So Happy For you. Using Crumb Cake  ink I stamped the butterfly randomly over the Very Vanilla base card. I decided then to use the Scallop Border Trim Punch and punch both edges on the Crum Cake and the Pacific Point Cardstock. They were then layered with a piece of Blueberry Crisp Designer Paper. I love this paper, it has really taken a hold on me and I am tempted to use it all the time! Three owls were stamped on Very Vanilla  in Melon Mambo, and two in Pacific Point, then punched out using the XL 2 Step Owl punch, I attached these to the card front using Dimensionals. The colours are lovely, and I think the owls look super cute sitting on the Blueberry Crisp, dont you? Well thats if for today, come back tomorrow and see what I have to share for you then. Bye for now.

Sweet Summer again

Sweet Summer, Hi again, As I mentioned yesterday I have another share for you today using the set Sweet Summer. It is the type of set that I think I will be using a lot of. I just seem to be drawn to it. Today's card is a CASE from Lee Conrey, We dont have all the things they do in the US with Stampin' Up! so we sort of improvise, adapt and overcome. Once again I have pulled out the Very Vanilla Cardstock as my base. I stamped the little branches all over the base and also stmped them on a smalled piece of cardstock which I matted onto Pear Pizzaz. The flowers I painted with, you guessed it my trusty Aqua Painter using Baja Brezze. You will notice a little 'pinked' trim below the sentiment and that too is another little sneak peak from the mini. Tomorrow I hope you will be ready for another share, this time it will be those adorable little owls from yet another of the Sale-a-bration sets Punch Bunch! Till then, bye for now

It Still Feels Like Sweet Summer To Me!

Hello stampers,  Here we are in Autumn in Australia, and it still feels very much like summer! It has been a very Sweet Summer here in Queensland, and our hot weather came in rather late and that made for such a pleasant season. For that reason I decided to show over the next couple of days some of the cards that I have made this last week whilst I have been off colour and housebound using the very set "Sweet Summer".This card I used Pear Pizazz and Very Vanilla. I dont use Very Vanilla near enough as I should. I love the warmth it gives. I stamped the cardstock with ink of the same colour using the the swirly branch. I had been trying out some of my new goodies from the Autum Winter mini and decided to use a piece from one of the trims from the new Bigz Dies for the Big Shot. It looks fantastic and am ever so glad that I bought it. I then stamped the stem with leaves three times and quickly coloured them using ther Aqua Painter and ink from the Pear Pizazz Classic Stamping Pad. I couldnt decide which flower to place on top of the stems so I used two out of three from the set. I also coloured those once again using my trusty Aqua Painter and Marina Mist Ink. Such a simple card yet so lovely. I was so pleased with the way it turned out. Look in again tomorrow and see what else I have done. I would love to know what you think. Bye for now.

Just for a bit of fun

I dont know if I have told you before, but both my sisters.....well actually ALL my brothers and sisters (yes, all five of them) are extremely talented in different facets of music, crafts and the arts. Then there is little ole me who never thought she had a creative bone in her body until she discovered cardmaking! My sister Maggie has developed her own website and she has called it The Three Sisters. The three being Maggie herself, Joan (the eldest) and me. Joan, I might add does the most exquisite cake decorating (as did my late mum) and I am really looking forward to seeing her work on the site. To gain interest Maggie has put up some of her creations and also this week put a tutorial on how to make the cutest little star box. She asked if I would participate and this is what I came up with! They were so easy to make and would make fabulous treat holders for birthdays etc What a wonderful way to use up retired cardstock!. I even thought that they would be brilliant as Advent stars in Decembeer to do the countdown for Christmas. How lovely they would be, hanging from the tree and to have the grandchildren collect them one by one. They are big enough to hold several little surprises (or chocolates). Have a wonderful stampin' day, bye for now.
